Some days are like that. And, that is okay. I enjoy working with the kids and the cattle.
I actually chuckle at these moments of cow snot and iodine. While checking in with kids on their fair animals, I decide to be helpful ( or so I hope). One of the heifers needed iodine on a spot, so I figure I can do it. I did apply it successfully and without incident. The heifer was super calm and is used to people. But, she wiggled her ears at just the perfect moment that I got iodine on my arm. I guess it’s like a badge of honor.

As I head to the barn, I realize there is something on my shirt. Sure enough in the process of hanging out with this girl, I got slimed with snot. It really doesn’t bother me. Again, it’s like a badge of honor.
I am fortunate enough to get to raise these animals. I get to work with them closely and help in their care. These are great moments of learning for all of us. It’s family time spent together and funny memories made.
