I got nothing done.

I had my Saturday all planned. I had numerous errands and projects to work on. I was going to get “caught up” on some things.

The morning started off fine. Then, I heard from my husband that when he left the farm he saw one of the cows was off by herself. He was concerned and sent messages to the boys to check on her. They went out to the pasture where she was by herself laying down. She got right up for them, but had a slight limp.

So, she was enticed to the barn with a pan of feed. Some gates were moved around to make a pen for her. Hay was brought to her. A water bucket was secured.

Her leg looked fine, but she wasn’t putting much pressure on her hoof while standing to eat. One of our farm crew checked her hoof. He was able to clean out some mud and a couple of rocks.

In her private suite, she is getting checked on several times a day, and getting her own feed, hay and water delivered. She is living the good life. Her foot seems to be feeling better.

Needless to say, none of the things on my list got done. But, in the big scheme of things we worked together for something more important. The health and well-being of Macy was the focus.

Another day on the farm living this wonderful and important life.
