It has started. Equipment is in motion. Everyone is working hard and working long hours. It is planting season on the farm.

The goal of my husband has always been to have all the equipment ready to go by the first of April. While conditions are not ideal that early in the season, the plan is to be ready to move as soon as the weather and soil conditions are right.

There has been movement in recent weeks. Fertilizer has been applied. Tillage in selected areas has been done. But, finally, planters are in the fields. Seeds are being planted. The life cycle of the plant is beginning.

Farmers are working long hours and while they are tired, and there is a satisfaction in their work that drives them on season after season and year after year.

This is where and when it all begins for another year of feeding the world.
